In close cooperation with Peoplez and the English agency Event Communication, Damgaard-Jensen A/S has completed a complete renovation of the Strandingsmuseum St. George. This museum tells the story of the dramatic shipwrecks off the coast of West Jutland and the people’s encounters with seamen from all over the world.
The Event Communication agency in London created the basic design for the layout and exhibitions at the Stranding Museum, while the design agency, Peoplez, was responsible for transforming the ideas from London into reality with hundreds of physical products.
The designers chose to involve Damgaard-Jensen A/S early in the process, which made it possible to meet the design ideas and production opportunities and reach the project’s purpose: To find a modern way of communicating the Stranding Museum St. George’s exciting stories.
One of the key elements to accomplish this project was Coala WallDesign wallpaper.
The printed wall decoration tells the story of the dramatic shipwrecks off the coast of West Jutland and the people’s encounters with seamen from all over the world. “The project succeeded so well because we achieved a unique collaboration”, says Per Tornvig, Peoplez.
The project has won the Antalis Interior Design Award in the public building category.
