YAD Space, a vibrant and young creative agency focused on designing innovative spaces has designed the Nextdoor coworking space located close to Gare de Lyon, one of the biggest train stations in Paris.
Nextdoor asked YAD SPACE to create 4.500 sqm of next generation offices in an old skyscraper. The brief was to create a strong atmosphere in a poorly lit space in GroundFloor, serving as a co-working space and a bar/coffeeshop. We tried to construct a specific atmosphere by creating a bar with a printed map and the use of wallpaper on the ceiling in a way that blends with the raw ceiling itself. The office is divided in 2 spaces; the bar – lively and buzzy – and the “quiet” space with a big “university” table and lounge furniture. Each space has its proper phonebox and meeting rooms. We tried to put some “transporation and travel” references as the location of the building is in Gare de Lyon, one of the biggest train stations in Paris.
The others floors are dedicated to firms that want to have their own private office space, and some extra meeting rooms and additional services (Gym, gaming, etc).
The general feeling of the concept is to create an office like a home, with a mix between functional and cool furniture—decor that bring stuffs from the house.
