The Oncology Area of San Ildefonso is the first phase already executed of the Niño Jesus Hospital project. This is a children´s Unit, with its own Reception and Waiting Hall, 16 rooms and a Classroom, besides the technical rooms, offices and storage. The complete refurbishment includes new flooring, ceiling and wall decoration, new lighting and new furniture.

Stories of the Retiro

The topic for the phase is “Retiro stories”. Some of the funniest and more interesting stories about the park has been selected to create a narrative that backs up the corridors and rooms decoration. These is also the idea behind the new cushioned capsule where kids and families can enjoy the stories, that have been recorded in a digital app.

Waiting area of the hospital

Waiting Hall has now its own glasshouse with winter plants on the walls to be used as a cozy meeting point for patients, families and medical staff. The classroom is well-equipped with teaching stuff while the walls have become an interesting herbarium with many plant leaves from the Retiro park.
