Booking.com has offices in the heart of some of the most dynamic cities in the world. The office aims to have a globally consistent, but country specific image. Maja Kozel was responsible for the design of the office located in the heart of Dubai.
As per the brief the office is designed with the global booking.com theme and introduces site specific design features as well as local UAE Aesthetics. The reception area is designed to be open and welcoming. It has hints of local gulf aesthetics such as the majlis style seating wall and Arabic style pendants above the reception desk. Arabic style graphics are introduced around the office as a wayfinding tool as well as to add a contemporary local flavour such as Graphic camels and Islamic star patterns. The open planned office workstations and the conference rooms are designed with a booking.com style and kept simple to enhance productivity and performance. The break area is perhaps the most important zone in the booking.com office culture and it reflects the companies culture. Bar height table with stools and pendant lights to put your souvenirs in reflects the brands nature, A majlis style seating with Saud fabric and Arabic graphics create a one of a kind space truly representative of the company and its people. A dynamic, space that encourages discourse and collaboration, the booking.com Dubai office is a space that presents an experience of the gulf within its walls.
Special mention to Kahler Design who was involved in the execution of the project.
